Scripture & Application
- 1-2 talks about how people can work their entire lives, but never get to enjoy them at the last minute. Have there been times that you felt like life was unfair to you? Share with each other in your families and talk about how it made you feel.
- In V. 3-9, the Preacher talks about how no matter how good your life is, if you are not satisfied or content, then it is better for you to not have anything and be satisfied than to have a lot and be unsatisfied. Are there times in your life that you feel like you are unsatisfied or want more? How does it affect your mood? Share with each other how even one person that shows dissatisfaction, or discontentment, or complains a lot makes it hard for everyone in your family to have a good mood an mood and be positive.
- Finally, V. 10-12 talk about how short our lives our and how only God knows what is best for us because he created us. Share with one another some of the things of the world that you have accepted instead of the things of God. Whether it’s greed, money, lust, gossip, slander, jealousy, or hatred, remember that the Christians on TV and the Jesus of the Bible are never 100% the same. Pastors and leaders are just as imperfect as anyone else because they are human.
